Trump and Sanders top announced fourth-quarter fundraising

Although year-end financial reports are due to the Federal Election Commission on Jan. 31, several 2020 presidential candidates have released their fourth-quarter fundraising figures early.

Sen. Bernie Sanders leads the Democratic pack with $34.5 million, topping his third-quarter haul by more than $9 million and setting a Democratic record for this election cycle. Former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D) follows with $24.7 million, also an improvement on his third-quarter total by more than $5 million.

Former Vice President Joe Biden (D) and entrepreneur Andrew Yang (D) both had their best quarters yet with $22.7 million and $16.5 million raised, respectively. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D) saw a drop in her fundraising at $21.2 million, bringing in $3 million less than her third-quarter total.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D) more than doubled her third-quarter figure with $11.4 million. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D) raised $3.4 million, roughly matching her previous quarter’s fundraising haul.

President Donald Trump (R) topped all Democrats, bringing in $46 million in the fourth quarter. This total surpasses former President Barack Obama’s (D) fourth-quarter haul in 2011 by $4 million.
