Police have thanked kind-hearted children across the region who have given them Christmas gifts.
The emergency services will be working some of their busiest shifts of the year this weekend.
Greater Manchester Police launched Operation Custodian aimed at keeping members of the public safe over the Christmas party season.
There will be extra patrols in Manchester city centre and on the transport network as many enjoy a night out.
And officers were delighted to receive a handmade Christmas card and chocolate bars from 9-year-old Eva Davies.
"Dear Emergency Service Work, You do an amazing job and work very hard!" she wrote.
"I wish you a merry christmas."
Posting a picture on Twitter, GMP officers said: "Just arrived at police vehicle to find this note on the window and a good bit of choccy treats!!
"Thanks ella for the kind words and gifts. Merry christmas to you too."
And in Lancashire, Jaxon Lee Moorhouse, nine, and Noah Moorhouse, eight, gave a card and chocolates to officers.
"To Emergency service people," they wrote.
"Thank you for your service.
"Thank you for everything you do to make the world a better place and a Merry Christmas."
Police were equally touched, writing: "On patrol this afternoon stopped to waiting for a bad guy when I was handed these lovely Christmas cards containing gifts!
"Thank you so much Jaxon & Noah Moorhouse - Truly touching.
"Thank you from all on #T2TacOps and @LancsPolice - You’re definitely on the good list now!"
