Ryder Cup teammates Shane Lowry and Sepp Straka hold a share of the lead with just one round of the 2025 Truist Championship to go at Philadelphia Cricket Club.
The sixth Signature Event of the season has produced a variety of different tests for the players so far this week, from a gettable layout with barely any defence from the weather in round one to brutal conditions on Friday.
As it stands, two of the men who represented Team Europe in Rome during 2023 (and will likely do so again at Bethpage later this year) have done the best job of taming the historic Pennsylvania course and hold a three-stroke advantage over their nearest challengers. They will begin at 2:00pm ET (7:00pm BST) looking for another pro victory.
Keith Mitchell led the way after round two but stuttered to a one-over par 71 on Moving Day, consequently falling back into a share of third alongside Justin Thomas. The American matched Straka's total of 66 during round three, one better than Lowry, to grab a tee time in the penultimate group at 1:50pm ET (6:50pm BST).
While scores varying from three to five-under were among the norm between holes 37 to 54, Hideki Matsuyama went several better to put himself firmly in contention on 10-under. The 2021 Masters winner carded a superb seven-under 63 to move into fifth and become the last of the realistic challengers for the title.
Current Masters champion, Rory McIlroy is among several players in a tie for sixth on eight-under, and he will go off alongside Tony Finau at 1:20pm ET (6:20pm BST) looking for another classic comeback.
