Truckie appears to snort illegal drugs for 'breakfast' in Facebook video

A video has appeared on Facebook showing a Victorian truck driver having a "breakfast" of what appear to be illegal drugs in the cabin of a big rig.

In the clip, the man — wearing a shirt bearing the logo of a Shepparton transport company — snorts a large line of white powder with a $10 note, after declaring: "This is going to be a big day."

He then lights a pipe and inhales smoke from an unknown substance, before ending the recording, saying: "Well, that's breakfast."

The ABC contacted the company whose logo appears on the man's shirt, Doncarm Transport.

The proprietor would not give his name over the phone, but confirmed the man believed to be in the video had worked for the company until three months ago.

"The video was posted today (Thursday), but I don't know when that happened," he said.

He said he was not sure if the truck was one of his, before ending the call.

The video was posted on a Facebook page and has been viewed tens of thousands of times.

'We don't want these people in our industry'

The page is administered by truck driver Scott Allen, who said the video came to him from a fellow truckie.

"It's been floating around our group for a few days," he said.

"We posted it because we don't want these people in our industry.

"That's a 65-tonne truck that he's going to drive towards peoples families. It's disgusting. There's no room for that."

In a statement, Victoria Police's media unit told the ABC that police were "… aware of a video of what appears to be a truck driver taking illicit substances".

Police said their Heavy Vehicle Unit were investigating the matter.

"We do so much to be safe and improve things, and then this comes along and drags us back 20 years," Mr Allen said.

"I don't want people to think this represents the industry, because it doesn't."
