Truckers release meeting points ahead of 24 hour protest against fuel prices

The Irish Truckers & Haulage Association Against Fuel prices have organised another day of traffic chaos in protest against Ireland's rising fuel prices.

The truckers caused traffic mayhem when they descended onto the capital last month, and they will strike again even bigger this Monday.

Today, the truckers warned that the numbers for next week's protest "look massive".

They said on Facebook: "I hope we are all ready for Monday the numbers look massive. Trucks, Tractors, Busses, Cars & Vans and of course all the members of the public that are coming to show support.

"Meeting Points will be released shortly."

Today they also released their meeting points for Monday's protest.

They have added meeting points from Cork and Galway.

The meeting points are: M1 services southbound, M2/N2 Motorway Ashbourne Retail Park, M3 Service Station Maxol, M4 Galway Plaza, M4 Kinnegad Plaza, M7 Kennedy Key Cork and Toughers Naas.

They said they will have marshals at every meeting point to direct the drivers when to leave and what route to take.

The Association also told drivers to leave room for emergency vehicles.

They said: "No trucks in fast lane and minimum speed on motorway is 50km. Keep hard shoulders free for emergency vehicles.

"See you all there Monday. Let make this count the more the better. Get out and show your support."
