Truck owners’ strike from May 1

BENGALURU: Truck owners in Karnataka have decided to go on strike from May 1.

B Channa Reddy, honorary president of Federation of Karnataka Lorry Owner’s Association, said: “We have decided to go on a strike due to soaring diesel prices and to protest the decision to increase fees for fitness certificates and registration of vehicles aged more than 15 years.”

Their other demands include abolishing check-posts at state borders.
