Truck outside Sefton Park Palm House dog walkers need to stop at

Dogs can now eat and drink for free while taking in the surroundings of Sefton Park Palm House.

Matthew Connolly, alongside two others, set up 'Sefton perk' in a kiosk outside the venue back in July to help the café out through wedding season.

Now their truck is a must-stop spot for all who are walking their dogs through Sefton Park.

However, as pooches aren't actually permitted on the Palm House grounds due to the Dangerous Dog Act, Matthew and his team wanted to ensure they weren't completely left in the cold.

They offer free treats and 'pupachinos', a cup of cream sprinkled with dog biscuits, to the dog walking community right outside.

The truck also has water bowls available in case your dog needs a refreshing drink, especially in the more warm weather.

Matthew, who has a 10-year-old Boxer Shar Pei mix called Oscar, told TeamDogs that while dogs feast on unlimited treats, their owners can enjoy a selection of coffees, traybakes and muffins too. Alternative milk and gluten free options are available too.

Dog options at the kiosk is already proving very popular with visitors and one picture shared on Instagram saw three dogs eagerly awaiting being served by one of the team.

The 35-year-old explained that the team are preparing for winter by starting to serve soups, stews and their 'special' hot chocolates made with real chocolate, cream and marshmallows.

The kiosk is open from 10am-4pm and can be found left of the main gate of the Palmhouse and by the car park beside the bridge.

Have you visited the kiosk with your dog? Be sure to share your picture of your time there with TeamDogs .

Sefton Park was recently chosen as one of best places to walk your dog around Merseyside by the team on our sister site, TeamDogs.

They explained : "Once labelled as a "dog walker's paradise" and with 235 acres, the Grade I historic park will be one your four legged friend loves.

"Liverpool’s biggest green space offers boat lakes, the aviary viewing point and even a shop that sells doggie ice cream.

"The Green Heritage Award winning site will have you finding alternative paths each time and always finding new things to discover."
