Truck left in tatters after driver misjudges Dublin's 'most battered bridge' in Mulhuddart

The overhead bridge on the Blakestown Road in Mulhuddart strikes again after a truck was left in tatters after hitting it earlier today.

The bridge has become infamous for striking incidents over the years, and was previously the scene of a truck getting stuck and a bus crash that saw schoolchildren injured.

Footage has now emerged of the damage to the truck that hit it earlier today, with the entire trailer ripped from the body of the vehicle.

It was shared on a Facebook page called "Ireland's most battered bridge" which updates the public on the numerous incidents that happen at the location.

They said: "The Shanty Bridge strikes again, I thought I was having a bad Tuesday. Another one bites the dust....!"

Thankfully it doesn't seem like anyone was injured in the incident.

Back in February, a driver was forced to deflate their tyres after their truck became stuck underneath the low bridge.

There wasn't any damage to the bridge or the vehicle, but the driver was understood to be "mortified".
