Traffic management crews became firefighters after the back of a truck caught alight on the Federal Highway on Tuesday morning.
The fire broke out on the back of a truck carrying kitchen cabinetry near Lake George in the southbound lanes just pass the Weereewa lookout about 8.30am.
A Fire and Rescue NSW spokesman said emergency crews were called to the scene of the fire.
Traffic management crews arrived on the scene first and helped to put out the blaze before firefighters reached the truck.
The fire was put out about 9am.
The blaze caused minor delays for drivers heading south on the Federal Highway.
