Truck driver left red faced after getting stuck under notorious blackspot bridge in Mulhuddart

A truck driver was left red faced in Dublin recently after getting stuck in a notorious blackspot for traffic blunders.

It happened under the bridge on the Blakestown Road in Mulhuddart, which has been the scene of sticky mishaps before.

They were snapped after their vehicle caused bother and held up traffic for half an hour while they tried to get it moving again.

One onlooker told Dublin Live: "It happened on the Blakestown Road in Mulhuddart, it happens quite a lot here.

"The poor driver was mortified, he was stuck there for around 30 minutes and even had to deflate the tyres to get moving again."

Last year, a number of schoolchildren were taken to hospital when their school bus got stuck in the same spot.

The group of second and third year students from Blakestown Community School in Mulhuddart were on an educational trip to a local mosque when the accident happened.

The parent added that the bridge the bus smashed into was notorious for collisions involving trucks and lorries.
