A truck driver attempted to avoid a garda checkpoint to hide a flurry of offences in Cavan on Tuesday.
Officers saw the HGV turning away from a check and after following them, found a string of problems.
A garda spokesperson said: "Cavan Roads Policing Unit and the Road Safety Authority were conducting HGV inspections.
"The driver of this lorry attempted to avoid a checkpoint. It turned out the he had never held a HGV licence, had no insurance and there was no CVRT on the tractor unit. This driver now faces Court proceedings."
Another motorists was arrested at the same checkpoint after giving a false name, the spokesperson added: "A car was also stopped in which the driver attempted to provide a false name and address, failed a road side oral fluid test, had no driving licence or insurance. This driver was arrested and charged to appear in Court."
