This is the scene of destruction left after a truck was used in a failed ram-raid attempt.
Part of the front of the Best One shop, on North Crescent, in Stakeford , Northumberland , was ripped off in the incident, which happened at just before 1.30am.
Police remained at the scene on Wednesday morning, which was cordoned off with blue and white tape.
Half of the shop's shutters could be seen lying on the pavement, while it's front window and cash machine were badly damaged.
Officers believe three men in dark clothing used a flat-bed truck to damage the front of the shop in a bid to steal the ATM machine.

However they failed, and the vehicle was later found abandoned nearby.
A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said: "At about 1.22am today [Wednesday] we received a report of an attempted theft of an ATM machine at Best One stores, North Crescent in Stakeford.
"It is believed three men dressed in dark clothing used a flat-bed truck to damage the front of the store, but had failed to gain access to the ATM itself.
"The men then made off from the scene and the vehicle was found abandoned nearby."
Police are now appealing for witnesses.
