A truck burst into flames last night with fire crews working to extinguish the blaze.
The vehicle was engulfed just after 7pm on wasteland just off the A71 in Kilmarnock on Academy Street.
Two fire crews raced to the scene to tackle the inferno.
It has been confirmed today by officials that there were no reported casualties as a result of the blaze.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 7.05pm on Wednesday, September 8 to reports of a truck on fire at waste ground near to Academy Street, Kilmarnock.
“Operations Control mobilised two appliances and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a derelict vehicle.
“There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
