What’s Going To Happen
Both teams are effectively out of the Sun Belt title chase, and both are scratching and clawing to become bowl eligible.
Coastal Carolina was cruising right along, and then came a three-game losing streak to drop-kick the dreams of getting a swag bag. Now the Chanticleers have to win three of their final five games to get to six wins.
Troy hasn’t been able to find its footing with three losses in its last four games, and it, too, has to win three of its last five games. The passing offense is the best in the Sun Belt, the pass rush is terrific, and the offense keeps the chains moving, but the defense can’t seem to stop offenses from scoring.
The D has allowed 42 points or more in three of the last four games, but Coastal Carolina has the leagues best defense along with a decent secondary that’s locking everything down.
After a run of three road games in four dates, the Chanticleers have had two weeks off to gear back up. They’ll take advantage of the beleaguered Trojan defense.
