Troy Parrott nets Millwall goal and names three positions he can play in after Tottenham move

Troy Parrott was on the scoresheet on Tuesday afternoon as Millwall recorded a convincing 5-1 victory over National League side Bromley.

Making his senior bow for Tottenham last season under Mauricio Pochettino in the shock Carabao Cup defeat against Colchester United, the Irishman appeared in a further three games following the appointment of Jose Mourinho as head coach.

As the 18-year-old was struggling to make the matchday squad even in the absence of Harry Kane during the second part of the campaign, it was decided that the highly-rated frontman should seal a loan move for the upcoming season.

Parrott opted to head across the capital and join Championship side Millwall, something Spurs teammate Kane did back in 2011/12.

Having clearly made an instant impression in training with his finishing. the Republic of Ireland international made his mark in their victory over Bromley at their Calmont Road base.

Playing the first half of the game, Parrott managed to joins the likes of Jed Wallace, Connor Mahoney, Ryan Leonard and Matt Smith in finding the net.

Speaking to NewsAtDen after the game, the hotshot opened up on where exactly he can operate at Millwall and his first few weeks at The Den.

“I don’t have a favourite position, I’ll play wherever gets me in the team,” explained Parrott.

“Obviously I’m a striker, I’ve grown up as a striker. I like playing off the left and behind the striker as well. Either of those three positions I don’t mind.

“It’s been great so far, I feel so welcome. I’ve settled in really well and really fast.”

Millwall open the Championship season with a home clash against Stoke City on Saturday, September 12.
