Troy Parrott named on UEFA list of 50 young players to watch in 2020

Ireland youngster Troy Parrott has the world at his feet, and it seems the football world is beginning to see what Irish football fans have known for a long time.

The 17-year-old wonderkid had a phenomenal 2019 as he broke into the Tottenham Hotspur senior side and made his Premier League debut in December, a month removed from making his Ireland senior debut after starring for Stephen Kenny's Ireland under-21's.

The Dublin native will be hoping to continue to make waves at club level in 2020, and already held in high regard by Spurs, the striker is garnering international attention.

So much so that UEFA have named him among their fifty brightest young talents to watch this year, with Parrott selected by UEFA reporters among prospects such as Ansu Fati, Mason Greenwood, Reece James and Odsonne Édouard.

UEFA's comment on the player reads: "A striker who is answering every question asked of him, Parrott made his senior Republic of Ireland debut in 2019 and played his first Premier League match in December."
