Troy Hill expected to play vs. Bengals, Malcolm Brown ruled out

The Los Angeles Rams don’t have to release official injury designations for Week 8 until Friday, but Sean McVay revealed some telling news Thursday in advance of the game. He already ruled Malcolm Brown out for the game against the Bengals, while Troy Hill is expected to play.

Both players were listed on Wednesday’s injury report as non-participants. Hill has a hamstring injury, while Brown is still recovering from an ankle injury suffered two weeks ago against the 49ers.

When healthy, Brown has been Todd Gurley’s primary backup, but rookie Darrell Henderson has looked good in limited action, too. He’ll back up Gurley against the Bengals in London with Brown sidelined, gaining more experience as an NFL running back.

As for Hill, his availability is big for the Rams. Darious Williams is his backup at cornerback, followed by David Long Jr. Hill has played well the last two weeks in place of Aqib Talib, and will continue to start opposite Jalen Ramsey.
