Troy Aikman prices Dallas-area home at $5.3 million

Nov. 25--Troy Aikman of football fame has listed his home in Highland Park, Texas, for sale at $5.3 million.

The French Normandy-style residence, built in 2007 by Tatum-Brown Custom Homes, sits back from the street on about a third of an acre. Accessed through a portico, the updated floor plan includes an updated chef's kitchen, a formal living room, a dining room, an office/study, four bedrooms, four fireplaces and six bathrooms in about 10,700 square feet.

Among features is a game room, a home theater and a wine cellar. The master suite comes complete with a private sitting area and his and hers walk-in closets.

French doors open to a large covered patio with a fireplace and outdoor kitchen. Elsewhere, a pool and spa sit beneath tall privacy hedges.

The former UCLA All-American and Cowboys quarterback great spent his entire career with Dallas, earning six Pro Bowl nods and winning three Super Bowl titles across 12 seasons. He currently works as a sportscaster on "NFL on FOX."

The property listed for sale is one of two homes that Aikman purchased last year after selling his longtime residence in Highland Park. He paid $4.6 million for the home currently on the market and $4.3 million for the home of author/editor Jane Wolfe, according to Candy Evans of Candy's Dirt.

Allie Beth Allman of Allie Beth Allman Associates has the listing.
