Trouble flares on Tranent High Street as 'disturbance' reported outside police station

Police are appealing for information following a "disturbance" which broke out in East Lothian on Thursday.

Trouble flared on Tranent High Street around 1.15pm, with secondary school children understood to be involved.

The disturbance started at the junction with Winton Place before continuing towards the local police station.

Officers are now asking for any witnesses to come forward.

Police Scotland said: "Police are investigating reports of a disturbance that occurred on about 1.15pm on Thursday 5th March. The disturbance started on Winton Place and continued up Tranent High Street near to Tranent police station.

"If anyone has any information they are asked to call 101 and quote the incident number 1683 of the 5th March.

"Alternatively information can be provided anonymously by contacting CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111."
