The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) warned of continued rainfall this week as a result of Tropical Storm Kalmaegi.
The storm, which formed near the eastern side of the Philippines, is moving westward towards the South China Sea and Vietnam. Even if it dissolves when it meets a cool weather mass in the north, the storm is unstable and could bring more rain.
An environmental expert on Facebook said Tropical Storm Kalmaegi may lead to more rain in Thailand at the end of this week. Kalmaegi, the 13th storm to arrive at the region's shores this year, could hit eastern Vietnam on Wednesday.
Its velocity will increase when it arrives in the South China Sea, with wind speeds reaching as high as 118–133 kilometres per hour, the expert said.
It will enter central Vietnam on Friday, with the direct impact expected in Da Nang and Khanh Hoa provinces.
