Tropical Storm Marco made landfall on Monday in Louisiana, near the mouth of the Mississippi River, the U.S National Hurricane Center (NHC) said in its latest advisory.
The storm is "expected to become a tropical depression later on Monday night," the Miami-based weather forecaster added.
