Tropical Storm Gamma forms over Caribbean, headed for Mexico's Yucatan, U.S. NHC says

Tropical Storm Gamma formed over the northwestern Caribbean Sea on Friday and was headed for Mexico's Yucatan, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said.

"The center of the tropical cyclone should be near the northeastern Yucatan Peninsula on Saturday," NHC added.

The tropical storm was located about 135 miles (220 km) South-southeast of Cozumel, Mexico, packing maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour (65 kph), the Miami-based weather forecaster added.
