Tropical Depression Twenty-Two likely to become a storm on Friday: NHC

Tropical Depression Twenty-Two is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm on Friday as it moves northward over the western Gulf of Mexico, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said.

The depression is located about 235 miles (380 km) east of Tampico, Mexico, packing maximum sustained winds of 35 miles per hour (55 km/h), the NHC said, adding, the system could be near or at hurricane strength by Sunday.
