Tropical Depression Fourteen forms over eastern Atlantic: NHC

(Reuters) - Tropical Depression Fourteen has formed over the eastern Atlantic, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Thursday.

The system is about 380 miles (610 km) south-southwest of the Cape Verde islands with maximum sustained winds of 35 miles per hour (55 km/h), the NHC said.

The depression is forecast to strengthen into a tropical storm later on Thursday or on Friday, it said.
