Trophy hunting firm seeking sales reps sends details to anti-hunting lobby

A trophy-hunting firm in Africa is hoping to hire a UK sales representatives to sell its tours to British customers.

Bizarrely, Nitro Safaris sent its recruitment email to the League Against Cruel Sports, which fights to end hunting, showing what the LCAS called “sheer stupidity”.

The message, headlined “Potential agent, hunting South Africa”, included the firm’s brochure and a price list for killing lions, leopards and elephants.

The firm “specialises in bow and rifle hunting”.

The League forwarded the email to the Mirror, which is running an End Trophy Hunting campaign. Our battle is backed by celebrities, MPs, peers and conservationists.

Nitro Safaris’s email, written by Thys Botes, said: “We would like to come visit you, and see if there is an opportunity for you to represent our company.”

A price list for 35 animals was attached, including zebras, giraffes, rhino and buffalo.

The firm also sent videos of its hunts, showing a young boy and his dad killing a kudu, a wildebeest and an impala.

Chris Luffingham, of the League Against Cruel Sports, said: “It appears that this contemptible company is seeking to get agents around the world to sell their sickening trophy-hunting holidays.

Chris Luffingham: "Their sheer stupidity in contacting the LCAS only matches their barbarity" (ITV)

“Their sheer stupidity in contacting the LCAS only matches their barbarity, which is highlighted in their videos. The Mirror’s campaign is playing a vital role in highlighting this deeply unsettling activity.”

Trophy hunters kill more than 1,000 lions every year, thousands of bears, and hundreds of rhinos and elephants.

Nitro Safaris did not respond to a request for comment.
