Troon swoop for midfield ace to bolster relegation fight

Troon have boosted their Premiership survival hopes by snapping up former Albion Rovers, Queens Park and East Stirlingshire midfielder Jamie Gallagher.

Jamie began his career at the Spiders, before moving to Albion Rovers in November 2016.

He moved on to Lowland League outfit East Stirlingshire in February 2019 and was a mainstay in their side for the remainder of that season as they pushed for promotion to the SPFL.

But the 22-year-old found starts harder to come by this term after The 'Shire brought in the likes of former Aberdeen midfielder Nicky Low and Livingston midfielder Mark Millar, and was released from his contract by mutual agreement yesterday.

Troon, currently third bottom in the Premiership table, made their move quickly to bolster their midfield options.
