Troon beat Premiership rivals to signature of pacey frontman

Troon have bolstered their attacking options by snapping up Ryan Nisbet for a second spell at Portland Park.

The pacey frontman, who spent a season at the Seasiders back in 2016/17, returns after stints at Kilwinning and Glenafton.

Troon manager Jimmy Kirkwood fought off competition from several Premiership clubs, including Irvine Meadow, to seal his signature.

Kirkwood said: "With Jaime Gallacher, Raymond Montgomerie and Scott Chatham already signed up for next season, we are very confident that gives us one of the strongest midfield’s in the league, and the addition of Ryan Nisbet, alongside Dean Fulton, gives the side real potency going into the new season in the West of Scotland Football League.”

Nisbet was a fan’s favourite at Troon in 2016-17, where he finished top scorer in an otherwise disappointing season for the club as we suffered relegation.

He moved on that summer as part of a mass exodus of players, joining Kilwinning where he spent two successful seasons  before joining Glenafton last summer.
