'Trolls call me lazy over meals I cook my kids - I'm a mum of 11 and do my best'

It’s no secret that being a parent is a tough job – especially when you’re tasked with taking care of a tiny human while you’re not feeling too great yourself.

But one mum on TikTok has said she’s being “bullied” online because trolls don’t think she puts enough “effort” into parenting her brood of 11 kids.

Posting under the username @thismadmama, the mum – who is pregnant with her 12th child – often shares videos of the meals she serves her brood, but some people think they’re too basic.

In one clip showing foods such as cereal, noodles, and macaroni, she wrote: “Today I made no effort to cook anything fancy for my 11 kids, and I know it was all sugar, salt, and junk but I’m tired, pregnant, and cranky.

“Go ahead and hate on me, I don’t care. I’m human, I have off days, at least the kids ate!”

The mum captioned the video: “Honestly I'm not sure I want to keep sharing what we eat since people will bully me no matter what I make.”

And commenters on the video were divided, with some critics continuing to leave negative messages.

One person wrote: “I will never understand why people have so many children when they clearly can’t provide the best for all of them. They are not toys.”

While another said: “I mean the kids shouldn’t get treated unfair just because their mother doesn’t know her limits.”

But many people also left messages of support for the mum-of-12, encouraging her to keep doing her best to raise her large brood.

Someone posted: “Some of these people don’t even seem like they’ve ever had a bad day. Kids are fed, happy and healthy. That is what matters to most people!”

As someone else commented: “My mum called nights like this restaurant nights. Specials were leftovers, cereal, etc. Best nights. Don’t listen to the negativity. Keep sharing!”

And a third added: “I survived off mac and cheese and ramen growing up. As long as your babies are loved and cared for that’s what really matters.”

The mum has since posted follow-up videos, including one in which she slammed those who claim she is mistreating her children by feeding them basic meals.

Responding to a comment that said her kids “need a better home”, the mum pointed out they only had simple meals because she was feeling under the weather: “My ex came yesterday to make dinner, it's just a cold, I'll be fine and so will the kids.”
