TRNSMT King Tut's stage closed due to 'massive crowd' as reveller stretchered away

TRSMT bosses have been forced to close the King Tut's stage due to a 'massive crowd' as one member of the audience was taken from the scene on a stretcher.

Revellers at the Glasgow Green festival were told to stay away from the area, where Becky Hill was performing, as screens displayed a message saying it was 'full and closed'.

It is understood that the pop star's set was delayed by around 15 minutes with medics having to take one person away from the crowd via a stretcher where they were given time to recover.

Crowds descended on the popular stage, with revellers crammed together to see Becky Hill's show.

A picture from the scene shows people standing above the crowd by the side of the stage, while others jostle for position.

A TRSMT spokesperson confirmed to the Record that medics attended to a person who needed help.

They said: "Our first aid team was made aware of an audience member who needed assistance at the King Tut’s Tent.

"As a precautionary measure they were transferred by stretcher to the onsite medical area and given time to recover.”

The Scottish Ambulance Service has also been contacted for comment.
