TRNSMT issues urgent update to all ticket holders amid 'shambolic' queues

Ticket holders have been issued an update from TRNSMT organisers as many fans have been waiting for two hours to get into the festival.

TRNSMT, which runs from July 8 to 10, has a capacity of 50,000 per day. Thousands of festival-goers headed to Glasgow Green to see some of their favourite singers and bands.

But long queues led to many missing out on some of the action. Festival organisers issued an update to ticket holders through the app, ]

It read: "There are long queues at all entrances. Take your time coming down, listen to stewards and stay hydrated."

One ticket holder shared on social media that they had been waiting in the queue for two hours before they were given water.

They wrote: "Water being delivered finally. It took two hours.

"Still stuck in queue. Stewards re-errecting barriers.

"Many in this queue were told to come here because main entrance was too busy. We've missed hours of the festival."

Another commented: "Long queues at two entrances. Spend £1000 on five weekend tickets but take your time getting here.

"Absolute shambles."

And another posted: "Partial refunds please."

A spokesperson for TRNSMT told Glasgow Live: "There are currently longer than average waiting times for fans entering the festival. Our welfare teams are handing out water to those queuing and we're doing our best to get everyone through security and inside as quickly and safely as possible.

"We're grateful for the patience of those waiting, and ask anyone who needs assistance to get the attention of the stewards or welfare teams."
