TRNSMT Glasgow: Lucky woman has best seat in the house for festival from high-rise flat

Thousands will be flocking to Glasgow Green this weekend to see their favourite artists and get swept up in the festival buzz at TRNSMT.

Yet one lucky person doesn't have to leave the comfort of their own home to enjoy all the sights and sounds of it thanks to her prime location overlooking the city centre park.

Yvonne Docherty lives in one of the high-rise flats on Adelphi Street in the Gorbals by the banks of the River Clyde, which enjoys amazing views right over the Green.

And that means when TRNSMT is on, she'll have the best view in the house of the artists performing on the main stage over the weekend - including Chemical Brothers, Liam Gallagher and The Courteeners.

It's a view she was already treated to for Biffy Clyro's incredible set last night on the Green, one which Yvonne said was "absolutely class" and so loud that her "windows were shaking because of the bass".

Yvonne had planned to go on Sunday to TRNSMT, but had to cancel due to the dates changing as a result of the pandemic - not that she is worried though as she isn't exactly going to miss anything from her flat.

"I was meant to be going on Sunday but I had to cancel because of the change of dates. But I only moved here in January and now I don't even need a ticket. There's so many folk I want to watch, but I can't wait to watch The Courteeners and Liam Gallagher, and I don't mind a bit of KSI too so looking forward to seeing him."

And while others living in the same block as her might have the earplugs in while the festival is on, she is keen to lap up the chance to take it all on from her enviable position high above it looking directly onto the main stage.

She added: "I don't mind it at all! I enjoyed the Euros and I'm enjoying this even more. It's good to have stuff like this on your doorstep. It's a good atmosphere and hearing the crowd singing back and having a great time after the last 18 months we've had."

Wise words indeed. We hope you enjoy yersel' Yvonne!
