TRNSMT bosses confirm go ahead for festival with August restrictions lifted

TRNSMT bosses have confirmed the music festival will go ahead with the August restrictions lifted

The festival at Glasgow Green will welcome Liam Gallagher, Courteneers, The Chemical Brothers, Ian Brown, Primal Scream and Snow Patrol and more during the three days it is staged this September.

Festival organisers DF Concerts already changed the dates of the event from July to September ahead of First Minister Nicola Sturgeon's latest announcement.

And now they've admitted they are thrilled to hear that social distancing restrictions are expected to be lifted by August 9.

A release from the festival said: "cinch presents TRNSMT Festival are delighted to be back, better than ever, following the First Minister’s briefing yesterday, where it was announced the Scottish Government expect to lift all legal Covid restrictions by 9th August 2021."

"cinch presents TRNSMT will finally return to Glasgow Green from 10th – 12th September 2021, following a year without live music in Scotland, for a festival weekend like no other."

Acts including Sam Fender, Little Simz, Griff, Dermot Kennedy, Joesef and more will play the event.

The spokesperson continued: "Event organisers are committed to following government and local council guidance which may be in place at the time of the event to ensure the safety of all festival goers, artists and staff.

"We have hygiene measures in place as standard and these will be increased to the appropriate requirements in response to conditions in September. "
