As TRNSMT Festival is set to kick off this weekend, Airbnb hosts have doubled the price of their properties - an increase of 104%.
The much anticipated festival takes place in the central Glasgow Green and with no camping options available, fans travelling from further afield must pay for hotels and Airbnbs for the weekend.
Research conducted by Money.co.uk shows the average price for Airbnb accommodation in Glasgow for a normal weekend is £107, but the average price for a room over TRNSMT is £219.
Some luxury apartments are listed for over £1,000 per night to stay in Glasgow for the Friday and Saturday of TRNSMT.
This is known as the 'event effect' as prices soar when cities have big events going on.
If you think Glasgow's price increase is bad enough, the Isle of Wight sees a 305% price increase during Cowes Week.
In Scotland it's not just Glasgow effected by this, Edinburgh Fringe sees a price increase too by 19.58% taking prices from on average £143 to £171.
Airbnb isn't the only accommodation affected by this price surge, as the festival expects to welcome over 150,000 people across the weekend.
TRNSMT's official hotel partnership with Hilton Glasgow sees the room prices shoot up as well.
The double rooms advertised during the festival weekend are priced at £218 during TRNSMT, but only £139 during the weekend before.
Most fans who book festivals and concerts in advance will be able to avoid surcharges for events like this, but accommodation prices rising so much make it difficult for people to make spontaneous and last minute arrangements.
A statement from Airbnb said: "Glaswegians hosting on Airbnb are providing much needed accommodation for people who want to stay nearby, while guests staying in listings on Airbnb help to spread economic benefits to local families, businesses and communities.
"For last-minute bookings to Glasgow, there are still affordable options available on Airbnb just outside the city.”
