TRNSMT 2021: Food and drink prices revealed ahead of music festival and folk aren't happy

TRNSMT will begin tomorrow (September 10) as over 50,00 are set to descend onto Glasgow Green for the first time since 2019.

The music festival was postponed due to the pandemic with restrictions not allowing large gatherings up until most restrictions were lifted on August 9.

However so long as festival-goers have a negative lateral flow test, taken within 48 hours of entry, and wear their face masks in certain areas, the festival should be a step closer to normality letting people unwind after almost two years of lockdown.

However as revellers prepare to see artists take to the stage, some are beginning to see the food and drink prices - and its safe to say they are not happy.

A pint will set folk back around £6 meanwhile a spirit and mixer is a staggering £6.50.

Looking at the prices one said: "Just seen how much drinks are at TRNSMT n a can not afford to pay that for 3 days and food. Worst part is once ur in ur in canny leave n come back."

Another added: "Sick of seeing TRNSMT drink prices already as if it’s a surprise to anyone and as if people won’t still buy them"

A third agreed and said: "Bar prices at TRNSMT £8.00 for a Vodka Red Bull Trying to dress Carlsberg up as a fancy Danish pilsner. These are beyond a joke."

Some of the prices for drinks include:

  • Water, 500ml: £2.50
  • Soft drinks, 330ml: £2.80
  • Vodka and Red Bull, 25ml: £8
  • Single serve wine: £6.50
  • Cider, 560ml: £6.50

As well as drinks, some food prices were also posted with The Big Feed uploading their menu teasing Mac n Cheese costing £8.00, Sloppy Joes costing £9.00 and a Veggie/Vegan Burger costing £6.50 with all foods listed on their Facebook page.

You can find the Big Feed Village directly across from the King Tuts stage.
