Triumph Unveils Four Special Edition Alpine and Desert Tigers, and Prices Are Right

After Triumph announced it'd launch 29 new and updated motorcycles over the next six months, it set off a tsunami of motorcycle news, ensuring that we'd be prepared to get hit by wave after wave of news from the brand. Now, we're being hit with two special edition Tigers, well, four actually, because they're spread out across the 900 and 1200 platforms.

Triumph has just unveiled a new range of Alpine and Desert Special Edition Tiger models. The new special editions are available across both the Tiger 900 and Tiger 1200 platforms, but each edition serves a different purpose.

The Alpine Edition is based on the road-focused GT Pro, but now has peak-inspired paint schemes and a few other features for those who like to travel far but stay on the pavement. The Tiger 900 GT Pro Alpine Edition is finished in Snowdonia White and Sapphire Black with Aegean Blue accents, while the Tiger 1200 GT Pro is offered in two Alpine colorways.

The Tiger 900 GT Pro Alpine Edition stands out with a Snowdonia White and Sapphire Black color scheme, enhanced by Aegean Blue accents. You'll find key design features from the front to the rear, which include Sapphire Black front mudguard supports, beak, tank end panel, and radiator cowl. Completing the look is a Matte Phantom Black grab rack.

Triumph says these models are "Born to explore snow-capped summits.", but, of course, it takes more than some cool coloways to back up that statement.

For the first time on a Triumph adventure motorcycle, an Akrapovič silencer will come fitted as standard on the Tiger 900 Alpine Edition. But it's not just the Tiger's roar that's getting upgraded; the GT Pro Alpine Edition will also come with engine protection bars, and riders can opt to fit them with an accessory heated or low seat. So this edition will sound more beastly, although the exhaust won't add any more horsepower over the standard GT Pro. If the Tiger 900 Alpine Edition is for you, be prepared to part with $17,495.

The Tiger 900 Rally Pro Desert Edition will also come with an Akrapovič silencer as standard, but instead of engine protection bars, this unit gains fuel tank protection bars.

Tiger 900 Rally Pro Desert Edition delivers a striking Urban Grey and Sapphire Black combination, punctuated by Baja Orange highlights. The beak, tank end panel, and radiator cowl finisher are finished in Sapphire Black, while the Urban Grey fuel tank and seat panel, and the Baja Orange rear radiator cowl complete the look. The Tiger 900 Rally Pro Desert costs $500 more than its road-focused sibling, coming in at $17,995.

According to Chief Commercial Officer, Triumph Motorcycles, Paul Stroud, “The Alpine and Desert Editions have all the capability you’d expect from a Tiger with a distinctive and purposeful design, and enhanced specification. They are a celebration of the epic adventures undertaken by our customers, riding their Tigers through the snowy peaks and rolling dunes. What truly sets these Special Editions apart, is the exceptional value for money they offer for riders looking for their next adventure motorcycle. As well as the class-leading quality, attention to detail, and triple powered performance our customers expect from Triumph, they now get even more style, tech and capability as standard.”

Both of the Tiger 1200 Special Editions have been upgraded with heated rider and pillion seats, Blind Spot Assist, and Lane Change Assist, as standard for the first time on the brand's full-fat adventure bikes. But, of course, each of the Tiger 1200 special edition models have their own unique features, and each offers a choice of two paint schemes.

The primary Tiger 1200 GT Pro Alpine Edition is available in Satin Crystal White & Matte Metallic Grey, with Caspian Blue accents across the tank, side panels, and the new mountain-inspired graphic. A Satin Sapphire Black fuel tank is paired with a Satin Crystal White tank panel, high mudguard upper, and radiator panel, while a Matte Metallic Grey cockpit finisher and grab rack add contrast. A GT Pro graphic in Granite and Sapphire Black stretches across the tank. Completing the design, the Alpine Edition logo is positioned on the battery box and features Caspian Blue accents.

Triumph says there's an even more vivid alternative to the primary Tiger 1200 GT Pro Alpine Edition, which is the Ash Grey with Intense Orange colorway.

The Ash Grey with Intense Orange paint scheme pairs a Satin Sapphire Black fuel tank with Ash Grey detailing on the tank panel, high mudguard upper, and radiator panel, complemented by a Matte Metallic Grey cockpit finisher and grab rack. A GT Pro graphic in Granite and Sapphire Black adds a bit more of a visual impact, while the Alpine Edition logo is also featured on the battery box, but with Intense Orange accents. Whatever version of the Tiger 1200 GT Pro Alpine Edition, it'll have a base price of $21,895.

Those who like to get dirty should be equally as happy with the paint schemes Triumph is offering on the Tiger 1200 Rally Pro Desert Edition.

The first colorway for the Rally Pro Desert Edition pairs Satin Granite with Triumph Performance Yellow. A Satin Sapphire Black fuel tank and radiator panel are complemented with a Satin Granite high mudguard and tank panel, while a Matte Phantom Black cockpit finisher and grab rack add subtle but noticeable contrast. A Rally Pro graphic in Graphite and Crystal White stretches across the tank, and, like the Alpine Edition, the Desert Edition logo is discreetly on the battery box and features Triumph Performance Yellow accents.

The Desert Edition is also offered in Crystal White & Red. This colorway features a Crystal White high mudguard upper, radiator panel, and tank panel, paired with a Satin Sapphire Black fuel tank and a Matte Phantom Black cockpit finisher and grab rack. The Rally graphic is in Sapphire Black with Korosi Red and features Cinder Red accents, while the Desert Edition logo on the battery box is on a Korosi Red and Cinder Red background.

Just like the 900 versions, the Tiger 1200 Rally Pro Desert costs more than its Alpine sibling you'll have to part with $22,995 if you want to see it in your garage. But if you take a look at the prices of the base models of all the units in this article it's hard to argue that these special edition Tigers aren't a good deal, relatively speaking. Each of the four models will be available from dealerships from January 2026.
