Trisha Paytas has spilled some BTS tea about what it was like acting alongside Sydney Sweeney in a Euphoria season three scene that has since gone viral on social media.
The scene in question is from the fifth episode of the HBO show’s currently airing third season, and it sees Paytas play a podcast host interviewing Sweeney’s Cassie Howard, who is on a press tour to pursue her burgeoning OnlyFans stardom.

During the interview scene, Cassie spews a bunch of right-wing, manosphere and tradwife talking points, including that “men should be free” and that the reaction to them wanting “a girlfriend that can cook or clean” is equivalent to them “screaming the N-word”.
In another interview bite during the sequence, Cassie says she’s not a Democrat because she’s “not r****ded”, which given Sweeney’s own rumoured political affiliations, was enough to spark a viral moment.
While the provocative scenes went gangbusters online, it turns out Paytas was just as taken aback by the dialogue as the rest of us.
“I had no script so that speechless reaction was real,” Paytas wrote on Instagram alongside a bunch of BTS snaps of herself on set.

It definitely explains her shocked (and instantly meme-worthy) reaction shot in the scene opposite Sweeney (all she can offer in response is an “Okay”), but it turns out Paytas had been teasing about her improvised Euphoria scene for quite some time.
In an episode of her podcast Just Trish that was recorded before she’d even been announced on the cast, Paytas spilled even more about her work on Euphoria, including that Sweeney’s lines were “so crazy” that she kept breaking character.
“I kept cracking up because it was so funny,” Paytas recalled. “The lines were so crazy, I was like, ‘This is why I can’t be an actress’. This person would say something and I’d be like, ‘What?’ Because it was a little improv, so I was like, ‘I don’t even know what to say to that’.”
It comes as fans continue to scratch their heads over this season of Euphoria, which has courted controversy with its portrayal of the sex work industry and the rumoured feuds supposedly happening behind the scenes.
Paytas said in her Instagram Post that she’s “adding actress to my resume”, with her Euphoria role joining another cameo she made in the currently airing fifth season of Hacks.
She’s staying booked, busy, and befuddled by Cassie Howard (because aren’t we all?).
