AGARTALA: The Tripura legislative assembly on Monday served notice to ruling BJP MLA Asish Das a day after he joined Trinamool Congress following a petition seeking disqualification of government chief whip Kalayani Roy.
Under the 10th Schedule of the Constitution, Roy moved the petition of Das's disqualification on grounds of his defection from the BJP.
Assembly secretary BP Karmakar issued a one-week notice to Das asking him to submit his comment based on the petition according to the anti-defection law.
