Triple J Unearthed Faves Mel Blue Just Dropped A Very Intense Vid For Their New Bop Endlessly

Mel Blue are back with a bop and a whole-ass EP drop.

Hailing from Sydney, the party of six behind a string of electro-pop belters like Yesterday and Wake Up Call have just released their latest single, Endlessly, along with an accompanying vid.

Made up of Oscar Sharah, Luke Gerber, Jacob Siles, Jack Janis, Pat Byrne and Lewis Clarke, Mel Blue have not only the vid to be amped about this week, but the unveiling of their EP Sanctuary Point Pt. 1, which lands on streaming services tomorrow, May 14.

The triple j unearthed faves might also sound familiar to the casual listener after last month’s prominent feature on Lola Scott‘s i wanted to call her but i’m tragic and she’s overseas, which is such an incredibly specific song title that interestingly applies to most people I know, myself included.

Telling triple j their inspiration partially comes from the likes of PhoenixDaft Punk and Parcels, I would go so far as to say Mel Blue’s sound is slightly less hyperactive but no less infectious than Phoenix, with vocal snippets on tunes like Yesterday remaining stuck in my head hours after giving it a spin.

Yesterday has already amassed over 1.9 million streams over on Spotify too, so I’m clearly not the only one who’s been playing it on loop. Endlessly, you could say. We’ve come full circle.

Head here to listen to Mel Blue’s full catalogue, and make sure to tune in for the EP release tomorrow.

If you happen to be in the Sydney area, they’re also playing a gig at the Oxford Art Factory on May 22, and you can snag tickets here.
