Triple H says Becky Lynch could be headed to NXT

Triple H has suggested Becky Lynch may have to come to NXT TakeOver: Portland to "hunt" down Shayna Baszler.

Expectations are high for the WWE event at the Moda Center in Oregon, the first in the TakeOver series to be presented on a Sunday night.

Former two-time NXT Women's champion, Baszler, is not currently scheduled to appear, but she certainly made her presence felt on this weeks' episode of Raw.

'The Queen of Spades' crashed the show just moments after Raw Women's champion Lynch made a hard-fought title defence over Asuka.

Baszler came through the crowd and attacked 'The Man' from behind, delivering a succession of strikes followed by a sleeper hold.

Then, things turned dark as Baszler removed her mouthguard and sunk her teeth into the back of Lynch's neck, drawing blood and forcing her to seek medical attention.

Returning to the ring and picking up a microphone following treatment at a local hospital, Becky told Shayna: "You better find me, before I find you."

In a press call attended by Mirror Sport, Triple H suggested this is the beginning of a bitter rivalry that could have ramifications across both the Raw and NXT brands in the coming weeks.

He told Ryan Satin of ProWrestlingSheet.com: "There was a ton of buzz, I think, going into Survivor Series and building up people [as potential challengers] for Becky Lynch.

"Her rise to where she is, has been insane and I'm so happy for her but you have to have that base of opponents, and all those things, so hopefully that [feud] turns into something massive for both of them and we’ll see where that goes."

On whether Shayna has now moved over to Raw full time, HHH said: "At this point I'm not 100% sure, as far as right now goes, I sort of look at this like sports teams in a way.

"As far as I'm concerned Shayna Baszler is still an NXT talent until we make a deal for her to go someplace else [such as Raw], so does that mean there's a moment where Becky Lynch comes hunting for Shayna Baszler or vice versa? I don’t know yet. We'll see."

Now that Lynch has decisively beaten Asuka, former MMA star Baszler could prove to be her biggest threat since her historic win in the main event of WrestleMania 35 over Shayna's good friend Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair.

NXT TakeOver: Portland features a stacked card including two NXT Championship clashes, as Adam Cole defends against Tommaso Ciampa, and Bianca Belair challenges Rhea Ripley.

Elsewhere on the show, Dakota Kai will face Wales' own Tegan Nox in a street fight, and Finn Bálor goes one-on-one with Johnny Gargano.

Pete Dunne and Matt Riddle (aka The BroserWeights) challenge Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly of The Undisputed Era for the NXT Tag Team titles.

And rounding off the six announced matches will be Keith Lee defending his newly won North American Championship versus Dominik Dijakovic.

WWE Raw is shown live, 1am Tuesdays on BT Sports 1 and highlights are shown the following Sunday at 10.30am on Channel 5.

NXT TakeOver: Portland will be shown live and exclusive on WWE Network on Sunday, February 16.
