Gunmen rob armored truck outside bank in Hermosa: police

Three men robbed an armored truck Jan. 31, 2020, servicing an ATM at a Bank of America branch in Hermosa.

Three armed men made of with cash Friday morning after sticking up an armored truck in Hermosa on the Northwest Side.

The heist happened about 7:30 a.m. while employees of an armored truck serviced an ATM at a Bank of America branch, 4500 W. North Ave., according to Chicago police.

The trio approached the truck and stole an unspecified amount of money, police said. No one was injured.

The FBI, which is investigating the incident, did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
