Three men are due to face court over a failed attempt to smuggle 10 people into Australia.

Police also seized cash and vapes while investigating the plot.

The trio are due to face court in Sydney on Thursday over the failed attempt to help 10 people illegally enter the nation in the Northern Territory.

The men, including a 35-year-old Australian and two non-citizens aged 33 and 34 allegedly travelled to a remote part of the NT in February as part of the plan to smuggle people in via boat.

They have been charged with aggravated people smuggling and are due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court after being refused bail by police.

The charge carries a maximum 20-year prison sentence.

Raids at homes in Sydney's west at Bonnyrigg, Parramatta and Lidcombe, as well as a Revesby warehouse on Wednesday allegedly turned up $300,000 in cash and 10,000 vapes.

Australian Federal Police have said further charges "cannot be ruled out" for the trio.
