Trinity Mirror’s former group legal director Paul Vickers, responsible for leading the publisher’s response to the phone-hacking scandal, has joined the parent company of the Telegraph.
Vickers was an architect of the Independent Press Standards Organisation and stepped down as chairman of watchdog’s funding body last year.
He brought a 22-year career with Trinity Mirror to an end in January last year when he left the publisher with a pay-off of more than £400,000.
After consulting last year he has now formally taken the role of editorial legal director at Telegraph Media Group, the parent company of the Daily Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph.
