The world’s largest and oldest toy store is coming to Leeds, it has been announced.
Hamleys will be opening a new store in Trinity Leeds, although an official opening date has not yet been revealed.
In a social media post, Trinity Leeds confirmed that Hamleys will be opening a big new store off Albion Street near Superdry.
The post said: “BIG NEWS!
“Hamleys IS COMING TO TRINITY LEEDS!
“Get ready for a world of fun, magic and theatre along with the biggest selection of all your favourite toys
“We can’t wait to see you and your smiles!
“Keep up to date with what’s on at hamleys.com. More information to follow!”
Hundreds of shoppers have welcomed the news with some even planning a visit the store when it opens.
One shopper said: “I'm having a new grandchild. My other grandchildren have Hamleys bears from when they were born so to see I can come to Leeds which is local to me is brilliant.”
Another person said: “This will be ace at Christmas!”
A third social media user said: “I love that shop every time we went to London had to go.”
