Trigger Point viewers have uncanny lookalike comparison for Lana's brother Billy

The latest episode of popular ITV series Trigger Point exploded onto our screens last night - and viewers were all saying the same thing about a new character in the show.

Main actress Lana, played by Vicky McClure, was thrown into some family drama as her superior officers explained that her brother was considered a terrorist suspect.

During the episode, Lana realised that her brother Billy had been targeted by terrorists instead, as she tried to lure him to the police station - only to discover someone had rigged an explosive to his car.

Despite how serious this scene was and how tense the acting got, fans could only point out one thing about the new character Billy - his likeness to a certain goofy sidekick in a children's TV show.

Billy, played by Ewan Mitchell, was given the title of looking exactly like Shaggy, Scooby-Doo's faithful sidekick in the popular children's television show, 'Scooby-Doo!', and the 2002 film where Shaggy was played by Matthew Lillard.

One Twitter user pointed out the obvious likeness, saying: "Lana's brother looks like Shaggy from Scooby Doo #TriggerPoint."

Another tweet read: "Is Billy really Shaggy from Scooby Doo? #TriggerPoint."

Someone else said: "Billy looks a lot like Shaggy from Scooby Doo #TriggerPoint."

And a fourth joked about it, stating: "Shaggy needs to get Scooby to help him #TriggerPoint."

Billy even had a green shirt on in the show, which was Shaggy's signature colour in his own mystery detective series - which is arguably less tense than this episode of the ITV drama.

Billy wasn't as lucky as his lookalike Shaggy, who tends to escape many of his encounters with bad guys - as Lana's brother met an explosive end.

Lana was able to direct her brother to a nearby field as she inspected the bomb in his car.

However, Lana made a crucial mistake when she was carrying out her work, as the timer attached to the bomb was in fact real, and not a fake as she first suspected.

Billy's car ended up in flames by the end, as it exploded when the timer detonated.

You can catch the next episode of Trigger Point next Sunday at 9pm, as the second-last episode airs live on ITV.
