If you're re-watching Line of Duty just to get your fix of high octane police drama, then you'll be relieved to know Nottingham actor Vicky McClure and talented writer, director and producer Jed Mercurio have teamed up again.
The pair have been working on a new project.
Called Trigger Point, the new drama will air next year, but the Wollaton-born actress was keen to give fans a sneak preview and shared the trailer on her Twitter account.
Tagging in Jed Mercurio she added the hashtag #countdownison.
In the new six-part thriller, Vicky plays bomb disposal officer Lana Washington, an ex-military bomb disposal operative. She appears opposite Adrian Lester who starred in BBC drama, Life.
After seeing the clip, fans wrote on Twitter: "Looks awesome can't wait to watch it Vicky" and "Just what the Doctor Ordered!! Immense TV Drama to kick off 2022".
Others wrote: "Looks brilliant Vicky and the wonderful Adrian Lester is in too, gonna make January more bearable this year."
While another just couldn't wait: "Sat and watched it and thought wow I can’t wait to see that it looks fantastic…then it says NEXT YEAR…next year we want it now lol x"
The precise release date for the series is to be confirmed but we do know that it is scheduled to air on ITV next year.
