'Tried to sign me' - Jack Robinson makes Nottingham Forest revelation after Sheffield United move

Jack Robinson says he is "thrilled" to have joined Sheffield United from Nottingham Forest.

And it has emerged that United boss Chris Wilder wanted to sign him before he even arrived at the City Ground.

Robinson, who joined the Reds from Queens Park Rangers in the summer of 2018, told SUTV: "I think before , he (Wilder) tried to sign me then.

"We had conversations but it just didn't seem to happen.

"So I'm more than thrilled for it to go through now and I'm raring to go, and ready to provide some competition for the lads.

"It's a big confidence boost, to be honest, knowing that you're coming somewhere where you're wanted.

"The gaffer has done an unbelievable over the last three years, so I'm excited to play for him."

Robinson added: "It's a privilege to sign here.

"I'm excited to be back in the Premier League and I'm ready to get going - to show the fans and the manager why they've signed me, and to continue doing well in the league.

"It's a massive opportunity for me to play here. I'm fit and raring to go."
