Tributes to woman who died in hospital after collision in east London

Victim: Ellie Isaacs was hit by a car in east London

THIS is the first picture of a young woman who died in hospital two days after being hit by a car in east London.

Ellie Isaacs, 22, was involved in a collision less than half a mile from her home at about 8.50pm on Wednesday last week. She was taken to hospital but lost her fight for life there on Friday afternoon.

Friends are planning a sponsored skydive to raise funds for the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance in her memory. One said: “She would do anything for anyone. She was always there for anyone and always had a smile on her face wherever she went.”

A close friend who met Ms Isaacs when they were both 12 years old said she was “one in a million”.

She said: “She was so brave, so funny and the best friend. She was loyal, honest and beautiful. Ellie’s just one in a million. It’s left an empty hole knowing we’re never gonna see her beautiful face again. It breaks my heart.”

The driver of the car stopped at the scene of the collision at Gallows Corner on the A12 and was not arrested.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit have issued a fresh appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident, or has dash cam footage, to come forward.
