Tributes to woman found dead in a Liverpool park

The discovery of a woman's body in a Liverpool park has prompted tributes and thoughts for her family .

The emergency services were called out to Springfield Park in West Derby at around 6.30am today following reports that the body of a woman had been found.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The death is not thought to be suspicious and officers were said to be trying to trace the woman's next of kin.

ECHO readers have now expressed their sadness.

Debbie Carlin said: "So sad thinking of all her family at this very sad and difficult time."

Brenda Lynch said: "So very sad God bless her loved one."

Steven Shanley said: " So sad. May she rest in peace."

Maddison Selina Smith said: "How sad."

Springfield Park. (Liverpool Echo)

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "Officers are currently in attendance in Springfield Park in West Derby following reports the body of a woman has been found.

"Emergency services were contacted at just after 6.30am today, Friday 29th May. The woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"The death is not currently being treated as suspicious and enquiries are ongoing to identify the woman and contact her next of kin."
