Tributes have been paid to a man whose body was found near Roby train station.

British Transport Police confirmed the man was found at around 6.45pm on Thursday, October 21, on the tracks near the station.

Emergency services rushed to the scene to provide treatment to the man, named locally as Kev Mc and known by the nickname Stirzy, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

"We love you always and your at peace now. Fly high mate. Love Leanne, Anthony, Molly, Keelin and Ruby."

A pair of military boots and pictures of Kev in armed forces uniform are also among the things left in tribute.

A sign has also been hung up on the railings of the station that reads: "You are braver than you think, stronger than you look, more talented than you know and twice as brilliant as the brightest star."

Another note left on a bouquet says: "Rest in peace Stirzy, you will be missed our mate. Your at peace now. You will never be forgotten. YNWA."

Tributes posted to social media describe Kev as 'legend', 'one of life's true warriors' and the 'most genuine lad.'

And a third Lyndsey Jones said: "God love his poor family and friends."
