Tributes to Scots amateur footballer 'who would light up any dressing room' after sudden death

Tributes have been paid to a talented Scots amateur footballer who 'would light up any dressing room' following his tragic death.

Popular Ciaran Reilly died on Saturday aged just 29 leaving friends and family devastated.

Heartbroken pals and teammates have paid tribute to the Fife man who had played in various teams in the Kingdom.

His current club, Kinross Colts, announced his passing on social media.

In a statement on their website they wrote: "Everyone at Kinross Colts is devastated to learn of the tragic passing of our player Ciaran Reilly.

"Ciaran was a popular member of the Colts Amateurs A squad, and a highly talented player who would light up any dressing room.

"We are heartbroken by the loss of Ciaran and will forever remember the good times he spent with us at the club."

A tribute video has been set up by the club showing Ciaran in action on the pitch.

His tragic death has united the football community with various teams also paying tribute.

Kennoway AMS wrote in a statement: "Kennoway amateurs are saddened to hear the heart breaking news that Ciaran Reilly has sadly passed away.

"Ciaran had a brief spell with us, he had an abundance of talent and was a great character, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this sad time.

"Sleep tight Ciaran."

Hearts of Beith AFC added: "With you in anyway we can."

Carnoustie Panmuir FC wrote: "Everybody at Carnoustie Panmure FC sends our condolences to Ciaran's family and friends as well as everybody at Kinross Colts.."

Fife Thistle AFC wrote: "Condolences to all from everyone at Fife Thistle. We're thinking of you all."

The popular player was well liked across the community with other devastated pals paying tribute- and urging anyone struggling with mental health to get help.

One man wrote: "Absolutely heartbroken... shine bright in the sky my friend love and miss you always.

"I'll see you again I’m sure of it Ciaran Reilly.

"Please everyone check in on your friends through these difficult times."

A woman added: "Rest in peace Ciaran Reilly....  you can rest now. Sleep easy."
